SIM picSDE1280 Low Cost Spatial Light Modulator Kits
We now also sell the Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCoS) microdisplay used in the Fourier Optics Experimenter Kits as a separate product. The devices are supplied with a DVI drive board for simple set up as a primary or secondary PC monitor and can be applied to a variety of research applications.

The devices are filtered for minimal curvature and have the following parameters:
Resolution: 1280x720 pixels
Bit Depth: 8-bit greyscale
Input frame addressing: 60 Hz (DVI port addressing)
Pixel Size: 9.5 micron pitch, 0.55” diagonal active area
Liquid crystal: Vertically Aligned Nematic (VAN) cell, Electrically Controlled
Birefringent (ECB)
Response Time: 10ms+/-5ms
SLM frame refresh: 120Hz
Phase modulation: Pi phase change at normal incidence
Amplitude modulation: Approx zero absorption coefficient
Latency: 1 frame (17ms)

Product

CCL is currently launching its first product line of academic kits based around the Optical Fourier Transform. A 4-f version of the kit and high power optical correlator systems will be available in due course. Custom systems and products are also available through development partnerships and licensing agreements.

Fourier Optics Experimenter Kit
FOE kits are now available, allowing the user to gain an understanding of the principles involved to apply Fourier Optics and optical correlation to their own applications.

The kit is based around the CCL Optical Correlator and Fourier Transform Engine© technology and comes as a “plug and play” unit, driven from a laptop/PC. The optical system is breadboard mounted to provide the user with full access to the optical and electronic components.

Product diagramAimed primarily at academia and research laboratories, the kit can be used to provide a fascinating insight into the huge potential of Fourier optics and how it is being applied to areas where electronic solutions are already beginning to show their limitations. The kit incorporates the basic CCL Optical Correlator and Fourier Transform Engine© technology.

Custom systems and products are available through development partnerships and licensing agreements and high power correlator and Fourier Transform Engine© - based systems will become available shortly.
Accompanied by demonstration software tools, a Matlab interface (requires Matlab package, not included) and SDK, the kit is designed to aid users in gaining “hands-on” experience of Fourier optics, whilst providing the means to develop technology to their own application requirements quickly and efficiently.

New! Also included is a complimentary copy of the main text on the subject by the eminent author in the field, “Introduction to Fourier Optics” by J. W. Goodman.
